Highlander Research and Education Center has served as an training site for social movement leaders for generations, including Rosa Parks and the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and many more. In March 2019, white supremacist graffiti was left behind at a suspicious fire that burnt one of the center’s buildings.
