As an institution, Columbia uses its resources to reproduce and develop new layers of people who sit atop society and impose policies of exploitation and oppression. At the same time, it also produces new layers of resistance, from the 1968 protests to the grad workers' struggle for a union and fair contract. This talk discusses how the universities themselves are a site of maintaining capitalist rule and how students, workers, and all oppressed people can turn those resources against exploitation and oppression.
