There has been a recent spate of struggles of low-wage workers, from McDonald’s to Wal-Mart workers, for a livable wage. It also offers an analysis of the character of the low wage economy—from fast-food to migrant labor to manufacturing—in the US today and how it has been shaped over the past several years.
