Hal Draper was the foremost American Marxist theoretician in the last half of the 20th century. He authored and popularized the concept of "socialism from below." Draper's major intellectual contribution was his multi-volume Karl Marx's Theory of Revolution, restoring the central core of Marx's politics as revolutionary working class democracy.
